There’s something about January 1 that tends to puts me in a space to “clean” and eliminate. This includes bad vibes, people, habits and everything alike. Obviously, this year is no different, but I started sooner than normal.
I told myself I would no longer entertain anything or anyone who didn’t add value to my life. And, that I wouldn’t continue to exist without being intentional in all that I do.
What do I have to lose by getting rid of people and habits who offer me nothing?
Ask yourself these questions:
- Does this person, place or thing add value to my everyday life?
- If I never speak to this person again, will I lose or miss out on anything?
- Does this person pour into me, support me and encourage me in all that I do?
If you answered no to any or all of these questions, it’s time to reevaluate the people you allow your time, space and energy.
Your inner peace and happiness is more important than having someone to text or hang with when you’re feeling lonely. Don’t keep people around for your convenience if they ultimately serve no purpose.
For me, this includes social media. I’ve spent a lot of time sorting through friends who essentially serve no purpose on my feed or friends list. It’s typically constant negativity and that’s not something I have to subject myself to seeing on a daily basis.
Neither do you!
Trim down your friends list online and in real life and watch the weights lift from your shoulders. Life is so much more pleasant without the negative Nancy’s clouding your headspace.
Start making an effort to be intentional in everything you do. Have intentional romantic and platonic relationships and make sure your actions serve a beneficial purpose.
Don’t bring in the first quarter of 2019 with nonsense. Value your time, space and energy and make others do the same.
Just dropping a line to say I enjoy your blog and emails! (I just don’t comment much) You go Destiny!
Thank you so much for dropping in! I really appreciate every little bit of feedback I get. ❤️ And thanks for reading, Molly!
